Teaching

Higher Education

I have experience designing, convening, and teaching classes (lectures, seminars, workshops, one-to-one tutorials) at a range of different universities across the UK, including Exeter, Bath Spa, Roehampton, and Kent.

Schools

I have developed bespoke workshops and classes for secondary schools adapted to their study and to subject requirements.  I have also developed taster sessions to introduce A-Level or GCSE students to English or History study at university level.  I would be happy to work with schools on widening participation as well as subject specific sessions.

I have also designed a range of materials for bringing research into classrooms, including this KS2, KS3, KS4 lesson resource with The National Archives.

As part of Middling Culture, I am co-developing resources for KS3 and above for understanding literacy, creativity, and social status in the past and today.

Drama

I have worked delivered theatre history classes at drama schools and led workshops at Shakespeare's Globe, Central School of Speech and Drama, and Mary Baldwin University (VA, USA).

Design, Consultancy, Collaborations

Web

I have designed, developed, and managed websites for academic projects and also have experience communicating with professional web designers towards a high-quality bespoke design. See "Projects" below for more.

Events & Talks

I have designed and delivered an array of well-received and sold-out events, talks, and workshops on history, literature, and performance over the past 6 years, both independently and at major institutions like Shakespeare's Globe.

You can read about one such event, at the Curtain playhouse, here, and a recent event at Eastgate House in Rochester  here.

Media & Exhibitions

I am a consultant on the new Museum of Shakespeare in Shoreditch. I currently work across three national art, furniture, and architecture collections in a working building. I have worked as a consultant on the Theatre Courtyard Gallery (Shoreditch) and was interviewed by The Times about the plans for the Elizabethan playhouse, The Theatre, here.

Collaborations

I have extensive experience working with partners across and beyond academia, including heritage organisations, archaeologists, professional actors and performers, and local councils.

Projects

I have been a postdoctoral researcher on these UK Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded projects:
